Many of us have experienced the worry that comes with being away on holiday or business and not knowing if a leak or burst pipe has taken hold. No-one wants to come back to the devastation that water damage can do to a property – a flooded kitchen, mould on the walls, ruined carpets and furniture… the stress and cost is enough to make you shudder. Well now you could be on the other side of the world and still have complete control thanks to Grohe’s new app-controlled Sense smart water sensor, which monitors humidity, detects leaks, flooding or frost risk and even alerts you immediately if there is a problem. Simply place the water-resistant device on the floor and it will not only detect flooding but it will also track room temperature and humidity – use multiple sensors in different rooms, tight corners and narrow spaces for complete peace of mind.

Domestic water damage is devastating when it happens but now with Grohe’s new Smart range, you’re the one in control. After all, prevention is better than cure and it’s more common than you may think. A recent survey by Grohe revealed that half of all households in Europe have been affected by water damage at least once so it makes sense to invest in Grohe Sense.

The compatible product Sense Guard, when professionally installed in the main water pipe, is also the ultimate in intelligent thinking. This smart water controller can detect frost risk, micro leaks, unusual water flow and burst pipes and automatically shut off the water supply if needed – and tell you that it’s done so. The AquaAlarm will alert you with a pulsating red light, a beeping sound, push notification or email. It even comes with AquaIQ, a self-learning algorithm that makes sure all alerts and actions are perfectly adapted to complement your household consumption.

Based on wireless LAN technology, both Sense and Sense Guard can be monitored and operated using the new Grohe Ondus App, whether you’re home or away. It’s also a great tool for keeping an eye on basements, cellars, holiday homes or weekend retreats, too. You’ll receive alerts if there is a water issue and you can shut off the water supply with both the app and Grohe Sense Guard to prevent any major damage before it happens. You can even keep an eye on your household’s water consumption too, which can save on utility bills and long-term running costs.
