A standout modern building has just hit hip Shoreditch and it’s a fabulous addition to London’s quickly modernising skyline. It’s the M by Montcalm, and its sharp, uncompromising shapes were the perfect match for VitrA UK.
Project Brief
Rising an impressive 18 storeys into the London skyline with a two storey basement beneath, the prestigious five star 269 bedroom hotel; M by Montcalm is a new addition to the regenerated Shoreditch area.
Completed in March 2015, it’s the fifth hotel in the group’s portfolio. The 18 storey building designed by the RIBA award winning architects, Squire & Partners has an obvious technology theme with guests being able to control room temperature and lighting through devices like Ipads. It would only seem fitting for the hotel to have VitrA’s M-Line rimless technology for their bathrooms.
VitrA’s M-Line range, developed by the VitrA Design Team in partnership with NOA of German Design Studio, has been selected for each of the 269 bathroom facilities. Born from a marriage of aspirational, architectural design and state-of-the-art modern materials, the elegant and sophisticated ambience of an M-Line bathroom can now be enjoyed by guests at the M by Montcalm hotel.
All M-Line washbasins have a specially-designed bowl, with precisely the right combination of depth, shape and incline to promote the maximum flow of water to the waste area. Every WC also has VitrA Fresh, an integral tank that dispenses detergent with every flush, helping clean the pan thoroughly and protect against build-up of bacteria. Not only that, but M-Line provides a Rim-ex option, a rimless bowl to discourage germ reproduction, providing that superior hygiene. The water diverter tool directs the flush evenly around the bowl.
Following the success of M by Montcalm, VitrA have been asked again to provide for the Royal London House. The 253 bedroom hotel situated in Finsbury square is Montcalm’s newest addition, where guests can also enjoy an M-Line bathroom.
The optimum goal for any hotel bathroom is to provide the highest level of hygiene. VitrA’s Rim-ex technology combined with VitrA Fresh is the perfect fit within the hospitality industry. The rimless bowl makes it easy to clean and the water distribution tool is easily removed for cleaning, whilst the integrated detergent tank will reduce the time needed to clean the bathroom.
