Get the Look: Japanese-Inspired Bathrooms

We love to be inspired by different cultures and are particularly fascinated by how others live. When we saw this beautiful Japanese style bathroom, we were stunned by how gorgeous and luxurious it was and wondered where we could source everything (or as close as possible). After some investigation...we found some bathrooms ideas that are easy to implement.
The bath
The Japanese soaking tub, or "ofuro" is hard to come by in the UK, but we found the Victoria + Albert Sorrento 140cm bath is a good starting point. There is also the Omnitub Solo, but this is not freestanding and would need to be tiled in. Both would still be wonderful to bathe in.Victoria + Albert Sorrento tub
Tiles
Designers could choose small mosaics contrasted with larger wall tiles to create a sumptuous natural feel. The Statale 9, concrete and wood effect tile, from Worlds End Tiles and the Ona Natural tile by Porcelanosa make great feature walls.

Bath and shower fittings
Create Japanese style with wall mounted valves and showers to keep the space uncluttered and luxurious. Choose quality fittings from a well-known brand like Hansgrohe and speak to your bathroom installer for further advice.Wall mounted shower and bath fittings by Hansgrohe
Shower
Choose a slim-line shower tray and glass screens to keep the focus on the bath. Hudson Reed have a great selection of walk-in shower trays.Walk-in shower tray by Hudson Reed
